Cranberry Orange Maple (Printable Recipe)

Tangy cranberries meet maple syrup and orange zest for a vibrant holiday sauce.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

01 - 4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
02 - 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
03 - 1/4 cup water
04 - 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
05 - Pinch of sea salt

# Steps to Follow:

01 - In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, maple syrup, water, orange zest, and salt over medium-low heat.
02 - Bring mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently to prevent maple syrup from burning on bottom of pan.
03 - Once cranberries begin bursting, reduce heat to low and continue cooking for 15-20 minutes, stirring regularly until juices thicken to desired consistency.
04 - Remove from heat when sauce reaches slightly thinner consistency than desired, as it will continue thickening while cooling. Taste and adjust sweetener or orange zest if needed. Serve warm or at room temperature.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Sauce will continue thickening as it cools, so remove from heat before reaching final desired consistency
02 - Can be made 2-3 days ahead and stored refrigerated in airtight container
03 - For stronger orange flavor, substitute orange juice for water or add extra zest
04 - Excellent as topping for pancakes, waffles, yogurt, or cheese boards beyond traditional holiday use
