Easy Homemade Apple Sauce (Printable Recipe)

Smooth apple sauce with cinnamon and lemon, naturally sweet and perfect for snacks, breakfast or desserts.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Fruit Preparation

01 - 5 to 7 medium apples, peeled, cored, and roughly chopped

→ Seasoning

02 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
03 - 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Peel, core, and chop the apples into even pieces for uniform cooking.
02 - Place the chopped apples in a medium saucepan. Add ground cinnamon and lemon juice.
03 - Cover the saucepan and cook the mixture over medium heat for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are very soft.
04 - Remove the saucepan from heat. For a chunky sauce, mash with a potato masher; for a smoother consistency, use an immersion blender until desired texture is achieved.
05 - Let the apple sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. Serve warm or chilled as desired.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For a sweeter result, select naturally sweet, soft apple varieties such as Golden Delicious or Gala. Adjust cinnamon to taste.
02 - The sauce keeps in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and can be served either warm or cold.
03 - No added sugar is necessary as apples provide ample natural sweetness.
