Tofu Grilled Zesty (Printable Recipe)

Golden tofu covered in bold marinade, top pick for spring cookouts and sharing plates.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 400 g firm tofu, water squeezed out and blotted

→ Marinade

02 - 5 ml sesame oil
03 - 15 ml rice vinegar
04 - 15 ml honey or real maple syrup
05 - 2 garlic cloves, crushed
06 - 15 g fresh ginger, shredded
07 - 30 ml olive oil
08 - 60 ml soy sauce

→ Garnish

09 - Sesame seeds to sprinkle (totally optional)
10 - 2 green onions, chopped thin

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Put the grilled tofu on your serving dish. Toss some chopped green onions and a little sesame seed over the top. Dive in while it's still hot, and add some fresh veggies or grains if you want.
02 - Lift the tofu out of the marinade and let anything extra drip away. Drop the slices on your hot grill, cook about 5 to 7 minutes on each side, and don't forget to flip them (keep an eye out for nice grill lines and crispy edges).
03 - Warm up your grill or grill pan on medium-high. Brush the top with some oil to stop sticking, and make sure it’s all clean first.
04 - Cut the tofu into chunky pieces. Lay them in a shallow bowl and cover with the marinade. Pop it in the fridge—at least 30 minutes, but 2 hours gives you big flavor.
05 - Grab a decent-sized bowl. Mix up the soy sauce, olive oil, gingery bits, smashed garlic, a bit of honey or maple, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk hard until they blend together.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Get as much water out of the tofu as you can before grilling. It’ll end up way firmer and will grill up much better.
