Blackened Salmon Avocado Oil (Printable Recipe)

Crispy blackened salmon seared in avocado oil with bold flavor and simple prep.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 4 wild salmon filets, bright colored and firm
02 - 2 tablespoons avocado oil, cold-pressed if possible
03 - 2 tablespoons blackened seasoning, homemade or store-bought
04 - Lime wedges, for serving
05 - Fresh parsley, chopped flat-leaf

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pat salmon filets dry with paper towels to ensure proper searing. Drizzle 1 tablespoon avocado oil over each filet and coat evenly with hands or brush.
02 - Sprinkle blackened seasoning evenly over the oiled side of the filets. Let rest at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes for better adhesion and even cooking.
03 - Place a large cast iron or nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the remaining avocado oil and allow it to shimmer before adding the salmon.
04 - Carefully place salmon filets seasoned-side down into the hot skillet. Cook undisturbed for 2 to 3 minutes until a crust forms and the filets release easily.
05 - Gently turn the filets and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and flakes with a fork. Serve hot with lime wedges and parsley.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Allow salmon to sit at room temperature before searing for even cooking and enhanced crust formation.
02 - Drying the salmon ensures the oil sears rather than steams the surface for optimal texture.
03 - Fresh parsley and lime add brightness to balance the richness of the blackened seasoning.
