Grilled Cajun Shrimp Skewers (Printable Recipe)

Tender, garlicky shrimp with bold cajun flavors grilled to perfection and ready in under 30 minutes including prep time.

# Ingredients You'll Need:

01 - 1 lb tiger prawns, peeled, deveined, and tails removed (about 24 prawns)
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
03 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
04 - 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
05 - 1 tablespoon cajun spice (or Old Bay spice)
06 - 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
07 - ½ tablespoon paprika
08 - 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
09 - 2 lemon wedges

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Use scissors to cut through the shell along the back of the prawns, and remove the shells. Rinse to remove the veins and pat dry with paper towel.
02 - Add the prawns into a large bowl and add in 1 tablespoon olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cajun spice, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Toss to combine and fully coat the prawns with the marinade. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes.
03 - Thread the marinated prawns onto skewers, adding 4 prawns on each skewer.
04 - Lightly brush some olive oil over the grill pan. Preheat the grill over medium-high heat for 3 minutes until the oil starts sizzling and shimmering. In a small bowl, combine the remaining olive oil with finely chopped parsley. Set aside.
05 - Place the skewers spaced evenly on the grill pan and grill for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the prawns turn completely orange. Brush the olive oil parsley mixture over the prawns during grilling.
06 - Transfer to a plate and serve warm with some lemon wedges on the side. Sprinkle extra chopped parsley on top.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Marinate prawns for just 15-30 minutes due to the acidity of lemon juice, which can start to cook them like ceviche.
02 - This recipe makes about 6 skewers. You can double or triple the recipe to serve a crowd.
03 - Serve with coconut rice, plain white rice, mashed potatoes, or on a salad. It also pairs well in shrimp tacos with lime crema slaw.
04 - To cook in an air fryer, place 10 prawns (not threaded on skewers) in the air fryer basket and cook at 175°C for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
05 - Unthread prawns from the skewers and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
