Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment.

Combine cake mix, pudding mix, oil, eggs, and water in a large bowl. Beat on medium speed until thick and well blended.

Scoop batter into 18 rounds for large pies or 36 rounds for smaller ones. Place evenly spaced on prepared sheets.

Bake 7–10 minutes until spongy and set. Cool completely before filling.

Tint vanilla icing with orange food coloring gel until desired shade is reached.

Spread or pipe icing onto the flat side of one cake. Top with a second cake, pressing lightly to avoid overflow.

Sprinkle with black decorations, add licorice legs and candy eyes for spider versions, or stencil with powdered sugar.
