01 - 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
02 - 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
03 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
04 - 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
05 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - Oil for frying

→ For the Filling

09 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
10 - 1/3 cup powdered sugar
11 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 - 1/3 cup strawberry jam

→ For the Glaze

13 - 3/4 cup powdered sugar
14 - 2 tablespoons milk
15 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, remaining sugar, melted butter, and egg. Add activated yeast and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
03 - Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1 hour.
04 - Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 3-inch round cutter. Place on parchment-lined tray, cover, and rise 30 minutes until puffy.
05 - Heat oil to 375°F in deep pot. Fry donuts 2–3 at a time, about 2 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels and cool.
06 - Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Fold in strawberry jam, leaving streaks. Place in piping bag.
07 - Cut a small opening in each donut. Pipe in filling until slightly oozing. Avoid overfilling.
08 - Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle glaze over filled donuts. Let set 15 minutes before serving.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Donuts are best enjoyed fresh the same day they are made.
02 - Dough can be prepared ahead and refrigerated after first rise.
03 - Filling can be stored in the fridge up to 2 days before use.
04 - Jam may be swapped for raspberry, peach, or blueberry.
05 - Filling works best when cream cheese is at room temperature.
